Shortage of drinking water due to floods and landslides in Darchula

Dhangadhi: The locals of Darchula are facing an acute shortage of drinking water due to the recent floods and landslides.

It is said that there is shortage of drinking water in Naugad municipality-3 of the district due to the floods and landslides at the Danda Jamir Pasad drinking water project area. According to the Drinking Water Consumers Committee, four intakes and one chamber of the drinking water project have been flooded.

It is said that the construction of the project was completed on June 26 at the cost(Rs. 1 crore 34 lakh 53 thousand), the project was completed in collaboration with the Rural Water Resources Management Project.
