Two killed in landslide in Darchula

Dhangadhi: Two people have been killed in a landslide in Naugad Rural Municipality of Darchula district. According to Darchula Police, two people were killed in a landslide in Jamir, Ward No. 3 of Naugad on Wednesday night.

Geudi Thagunna, a 72-year-old mother of Nandu Thagunna, a local from Jamir, and her 3-month-old granddaughter Manjari Thagunna died in a landslide, said Darchula Police DSP Manohar Bhatta. According to him, a two-storey house of Nandu Thagunna has been completely damaged. Cattle have gone missing due to the landslide. Even small hydropower plants were damaged due to the rains.
