Planting started in Bajhang's Thali Jhula

Bajhang: Planting has started in Chhavis Pathibhera Rural Municipality-6 of Bajhang. The practice of planting and harvesting paddy on the same day in Thali Jula has been going on for generations.

There are about 100 families living in Pujara and other places like Japrel, Thapa, Rokaya, Budha, Chalaune and Singh. There is a tradition that no one starts planting until the priests start planting.

According to the local Hriday Pujara, it is customary for other castes to start sowing on the same day as Pujara. He said that it is customary to start planting only after bathing and purifying oneself.

On the day after planting, the Thali Jula fair is held. At the fair, the residents of Sanpasela and Lekgaon of Savik (Field rope used) have been in a tug of war.
