A fugitive of a theft case arrested by Kailali police

Dhangadhi: Kailali police have arrested a fugitive accused in a theft case. Among the arrested is Mahesh Rana of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan-8. He had stolen 140,600 rupees including laptop, mobile phone and cash from the house of Shanti Chaudhary of Basanta Tol of Sub-Metropolis-1 on January 26, 2008. Rana, who was arrested after the theft, was released on bail.

However, the district court had sentenced him to 19 days imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 1 lakh 6 thousand 1hundred and 26 paisa. According to Prateek Bista, Deputy Superintendent of Police, District Police Office, Kailali, Mahesh Rana was arrested and produced before the court on Monday.
