Press Union in Kailali support journalists in Kathmandu
Kathmandu: The Press Union Kailali has expressed solidarity with the demands made by journalists in Kathmandu for professional security.
To show solidarity with the movement, a team of Press Union Kailali had reached the relay strike site of a journalist on the road at Nayabaneshwar in Kathmandu. A team led by Press Union Kailali Chairman Shravan Deuba met the journalists and expressed solidarity with the movement.
On the occasion, Chairman Deuba said that it was unfortunate that journalists who fought for the establishment of democracy were still forced to go on hunger strike for professional security. He lamented the recent media coverage of the Corona epidemic, forcing journalists to be fired, not paid, and forced to take unpaid leaves.
Journalists had started a relay strike against the media which did not support the journalists.
