2,253 new cases of COVID-19 registered on Sunday

Kathmandu: A total of 2,253 new cases of coronavirus infection were registered in the country on Sunday. 

Spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population Dr Jageshwar Gautam in a regular press briefing at the Ministry today said that the cases were identified while conducting RT PCR test on 12,784 individuals in the past 24 hours. 

According to Gautam, active cases of corona virus are 22,219 in the country. Of them, 10,326 are in institutional isolation centres while 11,893 are in home isolations across the country. 

Dr Gautam further shared that the number of total recovery from virus infection has reached 64,069 till today.   

According to Ministry, seven persons died of infection today. He said that total deaths caused by COVID-19 reached 535 in the country till today.
