UML candidate Yagyaraj Dhungana releases election commitment for Kailali-5

Dhangadhi: Yagyaraj Dhungana, UML candidate for the House of Representatives from Kailali constituency number 5, has made his election commitment letter public, outlining his priorities for the constituency.

In his commitment, Dhungana emphasized working on information technology, education, health, employment, agriculture, infrastructure, and social justice. He pledged to take the initiative to upgrade Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City to a metropolitan city and expand internet and IT services across various wards of Dhangadhi and Kailari Rural Municipality, strengthening digital infrastructure in schools, health institutions, and government offices.

In the health sector, Dhungana promised to make the Nepal Government's health insurance program fully effective and expand it to private hospitals. He also plans to bring Seti Provincial Hospital under the federal government and upgrade it, operate MBBS studies at Shaheed Dasharath Chand University of Health Sciences in Geta, and establish a 600-bed hospital. Special wards for women, children, and senior citizen-friendly health services, along with treatment for chronic diseases such as sickle cell prevalent in the Tharu community, are also included in his plan.

On employment, Dhungana outlined the establishment of a youth-targeted skill-based training center, expansion of startup loans, and creation of at least 5,000 jobs over five years through the "One Youth, One Job" campaign. He emphasized generating employment domestically through industrialization and effective implementation of minimum wages.

In agriculture, he aims to accelerate modernization, expand irrigation, implement agricultural insurance, establish food processing industries, and distribute land titles to the landless and squatters. Infrastructure plans include the full implementation of the "One House, One Stream" policy, with priorities for roads, drinking water, playgrounds, and urban development.

Under social justice, Dhungana pledged to protect the rights of Dalits, women, Tharus, indigenous peoples, and marginalized communities, preserve local languages and culture, and extend contribution-based social security programs to all workers.

At the program releasing the commitment letter, CPN-UML leader and Constituency No. 5 election mobilization core committee coordinator Narad Muni Rana stressed that UML’s victory is necessary for the constituency.
