Customs evasion goods seized from Kailali and Kanchanpur

Dhangadhi: Police have seized goods imported through customs evasion from Kailali and Kanchanpur districts.

Goods worth an estimated Rs 225,000, illegally brought from India by evading customs duties, were confiscated from Nalka Ghat in Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City-2, Kailali. A police patrol team deployed from the District Police Office, Kailali, recovered and took under control unmarked items including suits, velvet sarees, and other goods.

Similarly, in Kanchanpur, goods worth approximately Rs 95,130, smuggled from India, were seized from various locations including Bhimdatta Municipality-5 near Shantiniketan, Belauri Municipality-10 near Bhuda Sadak Ghat, and Dodhara Chandani Municipality-6 near Purano Basti.

A police patrol team from the District Police Office, Kanchanpur, took into custody customs-evading items such as sugar, edible oil, tobacco, plastic chairs, tractor bearings, nets, and nails on Tuesday.
