Hikmat Mahara, the iconic player of Sudurpaschim royals

Dhangadhi: Hikmat Mahara has been declared the ‘iconic’ player of Sudurpaschim Royals for the Nepal Premier League (NPL) cricket tournament.

Fast bowler Hikmat has been declared the iconic player after excelling in the ‘Talent Hunt’ held for the NPL on Sunday and Monday at the Cricket Academy in Dhangadhi. The team led by Royals coach Jagat Tamta has selected players in two phases. There were about 300 participants in the Talent Hunt. Hikmat will now play for Sudurpaschim Royals in the NPL.

Apart from Iconic, five other players have been included in Sudurpaschim’s development team, according to the Royals. Om Prakash Ghimire, Solup Chaudhary, Tekraj Thalal, Tarvis Jaishi and Abhishek Koirala have been selected from the development.

The Sudurpaschim Royals team for the upcoming NPL tournament in Kathmandu includes Dipendra Singh Airi, Arif Sheikh, Binod Bhandari, Avinash Bohra, Deepak Bohra, Milan Bohra, Hemant Dhami, Ishan Pandey, Tek Rawat, Naren Saud, Dipendra Thapa, Scott Kuggeleijn, Chris Lynn, Harmit Singh and Josh Brown.
