Dhangadhi: With the deadline approaching for adding names to the voter list for the upcoming House of Representatives elections scheduled for 21 Falgun, the Sudurpaschim Province Election Office in Kailali has seen a significant increase in service recipients. The last date to register is mid-Kartik.

With just seven days remaining, large crowds have formed at the election offices. Service recipients have faced delays due to repeated server outages at the Election Commission, causing tasks that should take a minute to stretch to half an hour.

Prem Raj Bhatta, Chief of the Sudurpaschim Province Election Office in Kailali, Dhangadhi, stated that around 3,000 new voters have been registered in Kailali alone. Despite the technical issues, citizens remain enthusiastic about registering to vote, with some citing the desire to vote for a good candidate and others motivated by recent political changes.

The office has advised that those who are already registered need not come again. New voter registration will continue until 30 Kartik. Citizens who are 16 years or older and possess a Nepali citizenship certificate can register at the Provincial and District Election Offices from 8 am to 6 pm, excluding public holidays.

Applicants must complete an application through the pre-registration system on the Election Commission’s website and submit their biometric details at the Provincial or District Election Offices. Voters who have relocated due to marriage or migration can update their residence, and any errors in names or other details can also be corrected.
