Three schoolgirls drown in Kulariya canal in Kailali

Bhajani: Three girls, including a pair of twin sisters, drowned while bathing in a canal near Satbigha in Patharaiya Gujarwa, Janaki Rural Municipality-5, Kailali.

According to Prakash Dangi, Chief Deputy Superintendent of Police at the Area Police Office, Tikapur, the victims drowned in the Kulariya canal under the Rani Jamara Kulariya Irrigation Project.

The deceased have been identified as twin sisters Nisha Bajgain and Manushi Bajgain of Tikapur Municipality-1, Block No. 15, and Sulochana Timilsaina of Janaki Rural Municipality-5, Gujarwa. Nisha and Manushi were studying in class 5 at Janajagruti Secondary School, Sitapur, Tikapur, while Sulochana was a class 4 student at Saraswati Secondary School, Durgauli, Janaki Rural Municipality-1.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Dangi said Nisha and Manushi drowned while bathing in the canal during a visit to their relatives. The bodies of all three girls have been kept at Tikapur Hospital for post-mortem examination.
