Case filed against suspects in murder of police constable Uttam Thapa

Kathmandu: A case has been registered against two individuals arrested in connection with the murder of police constable Uttam Thapa of the Maharajgunj Police Circle during the Genji movement.

Following a police investigation, the District Government Attorney's Office, Kathmandu, filed the case in the District Court, Kathmandu. The accused have been identified as Yubaraj Kyapchaki, 28, of Rajbas Ghar, Roshi Rural Municipality-9, Kavre, and Sonam Tamang, alias Budhilal Thing, 21, of Batase, Thaha Municipality-7, Makawanpur.

The complaint was initially filed by Thapa’s uncle, Ishwar Singh Thapa, reporting that his nephew had been killed. Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of the two suspects. Thapa was reportedly beaten to death.

The case has been registered under charges of murder and criminal mischief, with life imprisonment demanded for the murder under Section 177 of the National Criminal Code.
