Bus from Mahendranagar to Kathmandu meets with an accident, 17 injured
Dhangadhi: Kanchanpur to Kathmandu met with an accident on the Mugling-Narayangadh road section early this morning.
The bus, with registration number Sudurpaschim Pradesh 02-001 B 1332, lost control at a turn in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-29 at around 7:30 a.m., leaving 17 passengers injured.
According to DSP Bhesraj Rizal of the District Police Office Chitwan, the injured include 13 men and 4 women. Among them, 5 passengers sustained moderate injuries, while the remaining 12 are in stable condition.
All injured passengers are currently receiving treatment at New Medical College in Bharatpur. The accident occurred when the bus went out of control and struck the road divider. Fortunately, the vehicle was prevented from plunging into the Trishuli River by a roadside fence.
Those with minor injuries include 40-year-old Tara Bhatt of Bhimdatta Municipality-10, Kanchanpur; 23-year-old Harikala Thapa, 19-year-old Kailash BK, 27-year-old Krishna BK, 35-year-old Jayanti BK, 37-year-old Dil Bahadur Sunar, 23-year-old Samidewal Rana, and 37-year-old Sher Bahadur Bishta, all from Lamkichuha Municipality, Kailali.
Additional injured passengers include 22-year-old Basant Bohra from Bajhang, 34-year-old Dharam Khadka, 20-year-old Dipesh Bhatt, 23-year-old Lakshman Bam from Darchula, 25-year-old Bhimsen Sarki, 37-year-old Janak Bijali from Baitadi, 23-year-old Binod Sarki, 33-year-old Dev Bahadur Bhul from Dadeldhura, and 25-year-old Bipin Neupane from Chitwan. The District Police Office Chitwan is continuing its investigation into the accident.
