Kidnapping case registered against five youths in Kailali
Dhangadhi — Victims, including Lokendra Chaudhary, who were abducted from the Chisapani Pitmari area of Kailali, have filed a kidnapping case against five youths.
The complaint was lodged with the Lamki police, who are now investigating the incident. Following the complaint, the Lamki police have extended the investigation deadline. Kailali police have arrested two of the five suspects involved in the incident.
Three suspects remain at large. Narayan Shahi was apprehended at the scene on Monday night, and Govind Saund was arrested in the Chisapani area on Tuesday. The three absconding suspects are Hemant Poudel, Bhavesh Sapkota, and Sagar Shah, whose names were included in the victims' petition.
The Kailali police are actively searching for these individuals. Lokendra Chaudhary, the co-driver who was kidnapped, returned home on Tuesday evening. He managed to escape from his abductors in the Mohanyal rural municipality-7 Kasani area at around 5:30 am on Tuesday morning.
The abductors were planning to take him to Surkhet, but he escaped while they were searching for vehicles and water. Lokendra made his way home via the Gorange Barracks of the Nepali Army and has a bruise on his forehead. Anurag Chaudhary, the driver, was also injured in the incident and both victims received treatment at Lal Ratna Hospital in Lamki.
The kidnapping occurred on Monday night when a group of local youths attacked Dhaniram Chaudhary, driver Anurag Chaudhary, co-driver Lokendra Chaudhary, and Meen Majhi, who were transporting firewood from Kachali village.
During the attack, the police arrived, but some youths managed to kidnap Lokendra. Anurag sustained head injuries from stone pelting by the attackers. The Kailali police continue to search for the three absconding suspects and are investigating the motives behind the abduction and assault.
