Bhandari and Joshi, ministers from Baitadi and Bajhang disclose their assets
Dhangadhi: Bhanubhakta Joshi of CPN United Socialist Party is an elected member of the House of Representatives from Bajhang.
Joshi was elected by defeating CPN-UML candidate Ain Bahadur Mahar by a margin of 1,001 votes. Joshi got 28 thousand 413 votes while Mahar got 27 thousand 412 votes. Joshi, who left the CPN-UML and joined the United Socialist Party, is now the Minister of Federal Affairs and General Administration. As a minister, he has made his assets public.
The Prime Minister and Council of Ministers Office released the property details of the ministers on Tuesday. After the tenure of the KP Oli-led government in February 2074, the property details of the ministers were secret.
Among the assets made public yesterday, Minister Joshi has submitted details of 2/2 ropani in Bajhang and 4 annas and 2 dhams of land in Chandragiri, Kathmandu. He also showed 9 ropani land, 32 tola gold and 60 tola silver belonging to his father's Sangol.
Minister Joshi has disclosed that he has 169,000 cash, shares worth 8 lakh rupees, a scooter and a loan of 43 lakh rupees. Similarly, Damodar Bhandari is another MP elected as a representative assembly member from Baitadi. He won by getting 33 thousand 611 votes. Bhandari was elected as a member of the House of Representatives for the third time.
He was victorious by defeating the then coalition candidate. His rival Narendra Kunwar of the Maoists was defeated. Bhandari is currently the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Supply. He has been given the responsibility of Industry, Commerce and Supply for the second time on the recommendation of UML.
Bhandari participated in the government led by Pushpa Kamal Dahal for two months last year. He held the Ministry of Industry. Even now, Bhandari, who has received the same ministry, has also made his assets public. He mentioned that there are 6 rooms in his house in Patan of Baitadi, 2 plantations in Baitadi and 2 kattha land in Kanchanpur. In addition to this, Minister Bhandari has submitted details of 6 tolas of gold, 12 lakh 38 thousand in cash and 8 lakh shares in a hotel.
