Suspended School Management Committee President Assaults Two Teachers in Kailali
Dhangadhi: In a distressing incident, two teachers were assaulted by the suspended president of the school management committee in Kailali. Bharatraj Joshi, purportedly the president of Saraswati Secondary School in Lamkichuha Municipality-4, reportedly attacked Navraj Bhatt and Madanraj Bhatt, both educators at the school.
Police reports indicate that the altercation stemmed from a disagreement over administrative matters. Joshi's presidency at the school had been terminated following a decision by the parent meeting, as confirmed by Ward President Tara Prasad Adhikari. The conflict escalated over directives issued by Joshi, including instructions to conduct classes on the second day of Saraswati Puja and disciplinary actions taken against students.
The dispute between Joshi, the school management committee chairman, and both teachers culminated in physical violence. Subsequently, the matter was escalated to the District Education Development Unit through the City Education Committee of Lamkichuha Municipality, resulting in Joshi's suspension from his role as chairman.
Joshi's attempt to contest the suspension decision on Thursday led to a confrontation with the school principal, during which the two teachers intervened and were consequently assaulted. Local law enforcement authorities promptly apprehended Joshi, who is now in custody at the Lamki police office.
Both injured teachers are currently receiving medical treatment, underscoring the seriousness of the incident and the need for swift justice.
