Baitadi: Dhangadhi-Baitadi weekly air service has been closed since March. Summit Air has been flying once a week on Thursday, and the last flight was on March 10. Summit Air Baitadi representative Krishnadatta Bhatta said that the closed air service could not be resumed due to the high cost of airfares and lack of passengers. He said, "Due to the lack of passengers, the flight has not been able to take place, the air service has stopped because there are no passengers."

Summit Air, which was flying earlier, has said that it will not fly from now on. Bhatta said that the contract for the flight was canceled when there was a shortage of passengers. He said, "We are forced to cancel the flight as only one-way passengers are available during Dussein and Tihar and the fuel cost will not rise." According to Bhatt, the flight was stopped for a year after the passenger left, but the contract itself was canceled.

Patan-Dhangadhi air travel is 17 minutes. Passengers left Pine after paying a fare of 5,000 for the 17-minute flight. Initially, when the air service was operated, the fare was set at 3,850. After Summit Air canceled the contract, it is now uncertain when the flights will resume.

The local Chaman Bhandari said that when the air service was stopped, it was a problem for the people who were suddenly sick to be taken outside to the hospital for treatment and for other work. He said that since the fare is also expensive, the fare should be reduced and the flights should be operated regularly. Due to the suspension of air services at the airport, structures worth crores of rupees have become useless.
