Food company could not provide rice before Dashain in Baitadi

Baitadi: The Food Management and Trading Company has decided not to bring rice to four sales centers in Baitadi before Dashain. 4,500 quintals of rice destined for Gothalapani of Baitadi headquarters, Melauli municipality, Purchaudi municipality and Pancheswar rural municipality will not arrive in time.

Indira Basnet, head of Food Management and Trade Company Limited Dhangadhi, informed that no tenders were received when tenders were called for rice transportation.

She said, "Five hundred quintals for Baitadi's Gothalapani sales center, 1000 quintals for Melauli sales center, 2000 quintals for Kulau sales center and 1000 quintals for Hat sale center of Purchoudi municipality are in Dhangadhi godown. There is no possibility of rice going to Baitadi before Dashain due to the lack of tender for transportation.”

According to the food company, rice is being transported due to tenders for Baitadi, Darchula, Achham, Bajhang, Bajura and Doti in Far West.
