Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan will not do transactions through cheques anymore

Dhangadhi: Payments, revenue filing etc. from Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan office are arranged to be done online from now on. Along with this, the payment of development works within the sub-metropolis, public procurement process and work through the consumer committee will now be easier.

Now, cheques issued at the end of the financial year will not be cashed for two months. According to the sub-metropolitan, the money will reach the concerned account after the payment order is given based on the report of the completion of the work. Government money is sent to the account of the person requesting payment.

Saraswati Joshi, head of the financial administration branch of the sub-metropolitan city, said that from the current financial year, transactions through checks have been stopped and electronic payments have been arranged. "According to the order of the Auditor General's office to arrange for mandatory electronic payment, the sub-metropolis has arranged for online payment. The office no longer has to cut and hold checks. Arrangements have been made to send money directly to the account of the concerned person based on the report of the completion of the work." Joshi said.

As electronic payments are made, builders and consumers will not have to run to the sub-metropolis to collect cheques. The sub-metropolis claims that electronic payment has been arranged for all financial transactions.

Ramlal Shrestha, the chief administrative officer of the sub-metropolitan city, said that the practice of providing services to customers through technology will not only bring transparency to the work, but also efficiency. Saraswati Joshi says, "This technology will not only improve financial governance but will also end the hassle faced by the customer."
