A Nepali immigrant worker dies in a landslide in Uttarakhand
Dhangadhi: A Nepali immigrant worker has died in a landslide on the Kailash Mansarovar road section. A Nepalese laborer died and another was seriously injured due to a landslide in the section of the road being constructed by the Indian government through Dharchula.
According to the police, 45-year-old Nar Bahadur Roka of Dadeldhura, who was working on the road, died on Tuesday afternoon when the landslide occurred near a waterfall in Dharchula area. A 38-year-old Padamsingh Kunwar was also seriously injured in the incident.
Kunwar is undergoing treatment at Dharchula Community Health Centre. India is constructing the Kailash Mansarovar road via Dharchula at a distance of about 150 km from Pithoragarh district of India. Garg & Garg Company is working on widening the road and paving it.
The company has been paving the road by employing Nepali workers. The body of Nar Bahadur Roka, who died in the landslide, has been kept at Dharchula Community Health Center for post-mortem.
