Drinking water shortage in Khodpe of Baitadi

Baitadi: There is acute shortage of drinking water in Khodpe of Patan Municipality-8 in Baitadi, which is the main market connecting Baitadi, Bajhang and Darchula districts of the far western region. There has been a shortage of drinking water for the last five days.

The problem of drinking water has come here after the Siddheshwar Drinking Water Project had problems while supplying drinking water. Secretary of the Drinking Water Project Mohan Bista informed that the drinking water supply has been disrupted due to the breakdown in the power lines of the area.

Hoteliers, offices and even travelers have been facing problems due to shortage of drinking water. Hotelier Santosh Rai said that there was a problem after the drinking water shortage. He said, "The hotel business has been sluggish for the last four days due to lack of drinking water, which has resulted in huge loss." Ward Chairman of Patan Municipality-8 Harish Bista said that initiatives are being taken to solve the drinking water problem.
