Ganga-Dussehra fair in Khaptad

Doti: Ganga-Dussehra fair has been held in Khaptad, a famous religious and eco-tourist destination of the far west. The fair started in Khaptad this year after 3 years due to Covid. In Khaptad, there is a tradition of holding 'Ganga-Dussehra' fair every year on Jeshtha Shukla Paksha Dashami. According to the same tradition, visitors have started filling the fair in Khaptad from Navami on Tuesday.

Residents of Bajura, Achham, Bajhang and Doti have been attending the fair since time immemorial. With the recent spread of propaganda, the attraction of Hindus in the entire Far Western Province and across the country has increased. Therefore, the Khaptad Ganga-Dussehra fair has recently been taken as one of the largest religious fairs in the country.
