Dhangadhi: The body of 17-year-old Binod Shahi has not been recovered from Panchadewal Binayak Municipality-4 of Achham for three days. UML cadres have alleged that Shahi was killed by a Nepali Congress cadre. Locals who were agitated after the discovery of the royal body are still in agitation.
After the local agitation, the mayor of Panchadewal Binayak Municipality has started living in the district headquarters Mangalsen. Mayor Ambika Chalaune moved to the district headquarters feeling insecure after chanting slogans against her.
She said that the allegation leveled against her in the incident was false and she was also involved in investigating the incident. UML activists have alleged that the teenager was killed with the involvement of the mayor. There was a scuffle between UML and Nepali Congress cadres in Kalikasthan over the election issue. The teenagers went missing after the clash. The body was found on Saturday morning, five days after he was stabbed. The incident has now taken a political turn.
A CIB and a team including a dog have been deployed to investigate the incident. Chief District Officer Bishwaraj Maraseni said that an investigation is underway. The victim's side has demanded to find the killer and take action against him.
