Election of District Coordination Committee in Baitadi tomorrow

Baitadi: Election of District Coordination Committee is being held in Baitadi tomorrow. Chief Election Officer Tilak Bahadur Karki said that preparations for the election have been completed and voting is scheduled for 7 am to 9 am on Tuesday.

There will be competition between the coalition parties and the UML for the leadership of the committee. Nepali Congress, Maoist Center and Swatantra have fielded a joint candidate in the coordination committee while UML has fielded a single candidate. There is a provision for the chief and deputy chief of the municipality to cast their vote in the election of the district coordination committee.

In the committee election, the Nepali Congress has 9 votes, the UCPN-M has 2 votes and the Independent has 12 votes. The UML has only 8 votes.
