Parties intensify activities for the forthcoming local poll
Dhangadhi: Parties are busy preparing for the local elections scheduled by the government on April 12. The election offices in other districts along with the state election office in Dhangadhi of Kailali have said that they are busy preparing for the local level election. Gajendra Prakash Tharu, information officer at the District Election Office, Achham, said that they are preparing to hold the election on the scheduled date.
"The first phase of the preparations for the April 12 election has started," he said. "The voter list is being updated now. It has been called to protest the claim on the list. The Election Office Bajura has also stated that work is underway to update the voter list for the local level election. Rajesh Bhattarai, chief of the District Election Office, Bajura, told Dinesh Khabar that the party is preparing to publish the voter list from February 5 to renew the voter identity card.
"We will distribute the list at the ward office in a few days." The work is being done as per the schedule of the Election Commission, "he said. Authorities have urged the public to protest the claims over the names of those who died and were resettled before the voter list was published.
Prem Dutta Bhatta, Acting Chief of the Provincial Election Office, Dhangadhi, said that the election offices are engaged in publishing the voters' list, determining the polling stations and numbers, and managing the staff. He said, "All election offices are engaged in election preparations." We are in the process of publishing the voter list in the ward itself.
