Giri, who is in charge of Kailali Police, has been given the responsibility of Kathmandu Police Chief

Dhangadhi: The Ministry of Home Affairs has transferred Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sudip Giri from the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) to head the Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Complex.

Giri, the co-director of the bureau, has been brought in to fill the vacancy after SSP Ashok Singh Gautam Buddha was transferred to Gautam Buddha Airport (Lumbini). On Friday, SSP Giri has already arrived at the premises. Kathmandu campus is considered an attractive posting.

Apart from the federal capital, the security management of the capital, direct contact with the power centers, and the economic/social aspects of the place have also led to a scuffle between the SSPs to become the Kathmandu Police Chief. When he was SP, Giri also commanded the Kailali police. After being promoted to SSP, he was transferred from Kailali in 077 BS.
