238 new cases of COVID-19, five deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu: In the last 24 hours, number of coronavirus infection has been recorded at 238, while five persons succumbed to the virus in the same period. Information to this was shared by the Ministry of Health and Population in its regular bulletin on Saturday. The recent number of infection was confirmed from the 6,797 PCR tests. The update reached the total number of coronavirus infection at 822,392, according to the Ministry.

In the last 24 hours, 392 infected persons restored their health, which resulted to the total recovery at 804,208. Currently, the recovery rate is 97.8 percent. Five fatalities in the latest update totaled the COVID-19 deaths to 11,540. The COVID-19 death rate is 1.4 percent. Now, there are 6,544 active cases of coronavirus in Nepal. Meanwhile, the Ministry informed that 130,688 persons were vaccinated in the last 24 hours. There are 106 persons receiving treatment at ICU and 32 on ventilator support.
