Bhim Rawal submits a resignation due to a disagreement with KP Sharma Oli
Dhangadhi: As the 10-point agreement within the main opposition party Communist Party of Nepal (UML) has not been implemented, another agreement has been revealed. UML Vice-Chairman Bhim Rawal has revealed that there is an agreement to appoint two chairpersons for the implementation of the 10-point agreement. In a written resignation letter issued on Sunday by the coordinator of the task force formed to implement the 10-point agreement, Vice President Rawal disclosed that it was agreed to make senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal the next chairman.
After party president KP Sharma Oli said that he was not interested in implementing the 10-point agreement and instead justified the agreement, Rawal resigned from the high-level task force. But the 10-point agreement reached on July 11 does not mention the appointment of two chairpersons. After expressing commitment to implement the 10-point agreement, the leaders of the third strand left Nepal and stayed with the UML. Rawal said that he had resigned as Chairman Oli had said that 10 points were unjustified even after the Inter-Party Directive (Apanin) 12 was issued by the Standing Committee and the Central Committee to implement the agreement.
Point 4 of Rawal's resignation letter states, "It was also agreed to appoint two chairpersons in the central committee to maintain party unity by implementing the 10-point agreement." Talks were held between the party president and senior leaders on the issue and it was agreed that Madhav Kumar Nepal would be the next chairman of the Central Committee in the presence of party president himself, general secretary Ishwor Pokharel, deputy general secretary Bishnu Poudel, standing committee member Subash Chandra Nemwang and others. It is said that due to the same agreement, ten brothers including him are still in UML.
