Food grains supplied to Darchula via helicopter
Dhangadhi: Helicopter transportation of food has been started in Duhu village and Byans village of Darchula due to shortage of food.
Food grains transportation was disrupted in the area after the road connecting Darchula to Byans was blocked due to floods and landslides on August 29. Due to which, the municipality had demanded a helicopter for transporting food saying that there was acute shortage of food in ward no. 2 and 5 of the municipality.
Similarly, a spokesperson of the District Police Office, Darchula, Inspector Narendra Bahadur Chand said that food grains was being transported by helicopter saying that there was a problem in transporting food in Byans Rural Municipality-3 of Darchula.
According to him, rice, salt, pulses, and edible oil are being transported. He said that a Nepal Army helicopter has reached Darchula to transport food grains.
