A man tries to flee with a girl after offering her a lift on his motorcycle to Baitadi

Dhangadhi: On Monday morning, Godavari Bhatt went to Khodpe Bazaar in Baitadi to buy clothes for Gaura. A 16-year-old resident of Chitar, Patan Municipality-9, had gone to Khodpe with her father Arjundev.

After buying makeup for Gaura, she left with her father but eventually joined her friends and sent her father home. A motorcycle stopped in front of Godavari, who was walking home with her friends. According to Godavari, the young man was Harish Mahar from the next village. "I am your brother's friend. "Come on, I'll take you home," he said. Janak Raj Bhatta, brother of Godavari, said that the road from Khodpe Bazaar to Bajhang is about 4 km ahead of the road leading to Chitar.

After convincing Godavari, the young man rode the motorcycle. But he did not stop on the way to Chitar. He rode his motorcycle straight to the road to Bajhang. "I repeatedly asked him to stop the motorcycle but he refused," says Godavari. When I reached about 300 meters ahead, I jumped from the bike that was speeding. I don't remember what happened after that, she added. According to eyewitnesses, Harish left her alone and fled after the incident.

According to Godavari's brother Janak, the same eyewitnesses rescued her sister and informed her father. "My sister was taken to Dadeldhura Hospital for treatment. After being referred from there, Maya has been brought to Dhangadhi's Maya Metro overnight, 'he said. Godavari is currently in the ICU of Maya Metro Hospital. According to the doctor, her leg and internal organs have been injured. Meanwhile, the victim's family has requested an investigation into the incident at Police Post Khodpe.

According to the family, Godavari is still at the police post for justice. The driver Harish Mahar and the motorcycle have been taken under control by the police, said Bodhraj Ojha, Information Officer at the District Police Office, Baitadi. He said that the incident was being investigated.
