15 percent people vaccinated against Coronavirus in Far-West

Dhangadhi: About 15 percent people in the Far-Western states have been vaccinated against the Coronavirus.

According to the State Health Directorate, 420,000 people have been vaccinated. However, most of them have yet to receive a second dose. According to the state health directorate under the state's social development ministry, 420,000 people have been vaccinated against the Coronavirus.

Although the state government has not collected the data of the people who need to be vaccinated against Coronavirus, about 85 percent of the people are yet to be vaccinated. Dr. Gunaraj Awasthi, director of the State Health Directorate, said that the vaccines sent by the federal government has been given to the citizens of all the nine districts of the state.

‘The vaccines from the federal government have been distributed to all the health offices in the state. The office is distributing the vaccines to the local level, 'he said. Chief of the Health Office, Bajura, Dayakrishna Pant said that a vaccination campaign is underway in Bajura.

"The target group is being vaccinated," he said. The Ministry of Health and Population, Department of Health Services had directed to vaccinate people from all the districts of the state from 13th to 17th of July and from 18th to 21st of July.

Vero Cell vaccination was instructed to be given to citizens above 55 years of age, teachers and staff, drivers and co-drivers of public transport, employees of emergency services and citizens going to countries where vaccination is mandatory.

Similarly, Johnson & Johnson vaccine was said to be given to citizens in the age group of 50 to 54 years, citizens with complete and severe disabilities (class A and, refugees currently living in Nepal, health workers and sanitation workers. However, not all members of the group have yet been vaccinated.
