Husband tears wife’s ear for laughing in front of his relatives

Janaki Nepali, 21, of Bhandargaon in Jaya Prithvi Municipality-1 of Bajhang was brutally beaten by her husband Manoj.

Her husband tore her left ear while beating her. ‘Why were you laughing around the relatives’, he asked before beating her and cutting off her ear. She said, "He gave me my ear on my palm and said go to the doctor the next day to fix it, thereafter he ran away."

She has undergone surgery to fix her cut ear at the district hospital. According to doctors, Janaki's mental condition has been affected due to continuous torture and injuries to sensitive parts including the head.

The District Police Office said that no complaint has been lodged by the victim regarding the incident. However, the search for the perpetrator is on-going. Bajhang Police Chief DSP Rupak Khadka said that they were searching for the perpetrator and also awaiting the victim’s statement.
