Far West health worker dies of COVID-19
Dhangadhi : A health worker lost his life in Far-West after fighting against COVID-19 for days.
Kapil Shrestha, in-charge of Rahaf Health Post in Turmakhand Rural Municipality Ward No. 1 of Achham, died of the coronavirus disease at Temporary Hospital of Seti Province on Friday. Shrestha, 55, a resident of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan Ward No. 5, was admitted to the hospital on November 10.
He was receiving treatment on a ventilator after he was diagnosed with respiratory problems. He had been working as the in-charge of Rahaf Health Post in Achham since 2008. He returned to Dhangadhi around the festive season after experiencing health problems.
According to the Ministry of Social Development in the Far West, Shrestha is the first health worker in the state to die from Coronavirus. He was cremated by the Nepal Army at Godawari Arya Ghat in Kailali on Friday following the Hindu rites.
