A cow killed in Baitadi

Baitadi:  A cow reared by Sunkeshari Chhetri of Sungada in Tallagaun of Melauli Municipality-1 has been killed.

According to Narayan Prasad Adhikari, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Baitadi, Ashok Bista, 32, is absconding. "There have been complaints that Bista went to the barn and beat a cow to death using a stick. The reason behind his act is unclear," he said.

A case has been registered against fugitive Bista as killing a cow is illegal in Nepal since it is the national animal, action will be taken against Bista according to the law, police said.
