Food assistance to needy families in Bajhang

Bajhang : The 41st Social Service Day was celebrated here today by organizing various programs. This year's slogan for the day is 'Social Service is the Pride of the Nation, Today's Priority: Social Transformation and Entrepreneurship for Prosperity and Happiness'.

On the occasion, Pragatishil Yuva Samaj distributed 3 kg of pulses, 30 kg of rice, 2 kg of salt, 2 litres of oil, 2 kg of sugar and hand washing soap to five needy families of JayaPrithvi Municipality-9, Chief of the District Coordination Committee Khadak Khadka stressed on the need to do social service with humanitarian spirit.

Rajak of Jaya Prithvi municipality said that the state should help the deprived community. With the financial support of Society and World Vision International Nepal, 668 households in wards 3, 6, 7 and 8 of Kedarsyu village municipality and 854 high-risk children and families in wards 1, 6, 8, 10 and 11 of Jaya Prithvi municipality who are in high risk have been provided food grains.

The two organizations have also distributed solar sets for electricity services in the two local bodies.
