An outbreak of Visceral leishmaniasis also known as Kala-azar has started at the local level in the northern region of Bajura, said the head of Kolti Primary Health Center, Dr. Raju Raj Jaishi.
Health workers have said that the outbreak of Kala-azar is increasing in Budhinanda, Himali, Jagannath and Swamikartik. According to the Kolti Primary Health Center, the number of patients is increasing day by day but they do not have a kit to check them.
According to Dr. Jaishi, four suspected patients of Kala-azar were referred to Nepalgunj due to lack of kits at the health center.
The health center has stated that they have not received any kits although they have repeatedly reminded the health office Bajura about their requirements.
On the other hand, Dayakrishna Pant, said that the kit has finally reached the district headquarters and will reach Kolti in a few days.
