Police confiscates goods worth two lakh brought to Far-West without paying custom duty

A team deployed by District Police Office, Kailali, and Police Post, Kalakunda recovered goods worth more than 2 lakhs from various places in Dhangadhi Municipality Ward No 7 and 8. Four sacks of tobacco worth 35,000 that were being smuggled in an auto-rickshaw (Se 1 Ha 2287) in Ward No. 7 was recovered by the police. Similarly, one sack of Super Power Tobacco, two sacks of plastic bags worth Rs. 145,000 was also recovered.

According to the police, four quintals and 50 kilograms of peas along with other unsolicited goods worth 20,2500 was seized from Khairighat in Tikapur Municipality Ward No. 7. The goods have been handed over to the customs office for necessary action, said Kailali spokesperson Deputy Superintendent of Police Pratik Bista.
