16 police officers infected with Coronavirus in Far-West

Dhangadhi: The number of infected policemen has reached 16 after the virus was detected in three policemen working at the District Police Office of Kailali on Thursday.

Two 42-year-old and a 44-year-old police personnel working at the District Police Office of Kailali were found to be infected during a laboratory test at the Seti Provincial Hospital.

The status of the infected police has not been disclosed. Chief of Far-Western Provincial Police Office, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Uttamraj Subedi said that the number of Corona-infected policemen in the Far-Western Region has reached 16.

He also informed Dinesh Khabar that a policeman working at the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority in Kanchanpur also tested positive.

According to the state police office, corona infection has been confirmed in 16 police stations including six in Bajura, five in Kanchanpur, three in Kailali and two in Achham. Of them, 12 have been discharged.
