Three test positive out of 786 swab samples examined in Kathmandu
The Health Office Bajura sent 786 throat swab samples to Kathmandu via helicopter as the road connectivity was hindered due to the landslides.
Only three people tested positive for Coronavirus amongst the 786 samples examined in Kathmandu. Throat swab samples were collected from India returnees and people from the community level. All three people that tested positive are returnees from India and there have been no cases from the community level, said Dayakrishna Pant, head of the Health Office in Bajura.
Last week, the Health Directorate under the State's Ministry of Social Development directed the Health Office to collect samples of at least two members, if a family member has been infected with the virus to curb the spread at the community level. In the first phase, swab samples are tested.
As per the directive of the Government of Nepal, the Directorate of Health under the Ministry of Social Development of the province had directed all the nine health offices of the province to collect samples of throat swab from the community level as well. Lal Bahadur Dhami, acting head of the health office in Kailali, said that the health office and the local level of the state have collected samples of throat swab from the community level on the basis of the same directive.
