Corona patients to be treated at Seti Hospital through plasma therapy
Dhangadhi: Coronavirus infected are being treated with plasma therapy at Seti Provincial Hospital. The Ministry of Health and Population has designated 12 hospitals for the treatment of Covid-19 with plasma convulsant therapy.
Executive Director of Nepal Health Research Council Dr. Pradip Gyawali informed that nine government and three private hospitals have been sanctioned for the treatment and research of the critically ill people of Covid-19 through this method. Seti Provincial Hospital is the only one with this therapy in the Far-Western region.
Physician and coordinator from 12 hospitals across the country have been appointed to be involved in the investigation. A 60-year-old infected person was the first to be treated with plasma therapy at the Teaching hospital.
According to this method, plasma in the blood of a person who has completely recovered from covid-19 is injected into the blood of an infected person in a serious condition which generates antibodies in the infected person to kill the virus.
