Kailali Hospital in Dhangadhi has successfully operated a 29-month-old boy from Kanchanpur with a 7.8 mm stone stuck in his urethra.

A team comprising of Dr. Ananda Pathak, Dr. Arun Pandey and Dr. Kapil Gautam performed a laparoscopic surgery on this complex case.

It was a rare and complicated case said Janak Raj Joshi, Director of Kailali Hospital. He said that the parents of the child are happy with the operation because laparoscopy is a small-scale surgery. It is a surgical procedure in which a fiber-optic instrument is inserted through the abdominal wall to view the organs in the abdomen.
