Gang rape in quarantine of Lamki Chuha sparks protests: East-West Highway blocked

The East-West Highway is blocked by the locals protesting the gang rape of a woman quarantined in Lamkichuha Municipality Ward No. 1, Kailali.

DSP Pratik Bista of Kailali District Police Office said, “The highway is blocked but we are trying to control the situation and reopen it.  Three people were arrested for raping a 31-year-old woman living in the quarantine of Shahid Smriti Secondary School in Ward No.1 on Saturday night. 17-year-old  Sujeon BK, 20-year-old Laxman Pariyar, and 22-year-old Kisor Pariyar, of Lamki Chuha Municipality Ward No.1 were arrested on Sunday after the victim lodged a FIR against them. One of them is a health worker and the other two were quarantine assistants.
