Police seize customs-evaded goods worth over Rs 130,000 in Kailali and Kanchanpur

Dhangadhi: Police have seized goods brought into Kailali and Kanchanpur districts from India without paying the required customs duties.

On Wednesday, police teams from the District Police Office, Kailali, and its subordinate units seized various types of firecrackers found at several locations in the district. The firecrackers, which had been brought illegally from India by evading customs duties, were valued at approximately Rs 99,600. Police seized the goods after completing the necessary legal procedures.

Similarly, in Kanchanpur, police teams from the District Police Office and its subordinate units found various types of firecrackers and grocery items abandoned at different locations. The goods, also brought illegally from India by evading customs duties, were valued at approximately Rs 30,800 and seized after the required legal formalities were completed.
