Dhangadhi: Life is beginning to change for residents of Simchaur in Bogtan Phudsil Rural Municipality-1, an area once known for its remoteness, as development infrastructure continues to expand.

In this context, construction of a new building for the Simchaur Health Post has been completed at a cost of Rs 8.2 million.

Khem Gharti Magar, Ward Chairperson of Ward No. 1, said preparations are underway to inaugurate the building after the Dashain festival. The building was funded through a combination of 80 percent from the federal government’s supplementary budget and 20 percent from Bogtan Phudsil Rural Municipality.

The newly constructed health post will provide services including general health check-ups and treatment, primary healthcare, maternal and child health services, vaccinations, family planning, nutrition support, medicine distribution, and health counseling. Residents of Simchaur, Katai, Mauda, Pans, Chhidikhan, Jhyamtola, and Lafada will benefit from the facility.

According to Ward Chairperson Gharti Magar, several other projects are also underway in Ward No. 1 alongside the health post construction. These include construction of a three-room structure for Simchaur Secondary School, extension of the national electricity grid, fencing of Karkateshwar Secondary School, and construction of roads connecting Katai-Mora-Setilokmarg and Jhyamtola-Guinadan.

Additionally, the Seudekhet Community Health Unit and the Sirpatal-Katai drinking water project have been completed, along with construction of Shiva temples in Chhidikhan and Uphanna and the Katai Community Health Unit building.

Chairperson Gharti Magar also noted that corrugated roofing sheets have been distributed to 135 households.

The remote identity of Bogtan Phudsil is gradually changing as basic infrastructure, including health, education, electricity, drinking water, and roads, continues to expand. With the new health post building now operational, residents of the rural area are expected to find it much easier to access healthcare services within their own village.

The foundation stone for the building was laid in Magh 2082.
