Dhangadhi: Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City is set to provide a 50% subsidy on improved wheat seeds to farmers across 12 of its wards.

The Sub-Metropolitan City is implementing the subsidy under its approved program for the current fiscal year (2083/084), which promotes the use of improved seeds for food crops.

The Agriculture Development Branch issued a notice on Wednesday inviting interested farmers, farmer groups, and agricultural firms from Wards 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, and 19 to apply for the subsidy. The deadline for submission is Ashwin 6.

According to the branch, improved seeds of four wheat varieties—Bijaya, Gautam, NL-971, and Aditya—will be made available under the subsidy scheme.

Applicants must submit a formal request along with a copy of their citizenship certificate, a recommendation from the relevant ward office, and a copy of their land ownership certificate or land lease agreement. Farmers cultivating Ailani land (public/unregistered land) must submit a recommendation from the ward office.

For farmer groups or agricultural firms, the branch requires copies of the registration certificate, PAN card, business registration, tax clearance certificate, and the group’s decision/resolution.

Application forms can be obtained from the respective ward offices or the Sub-Metropolitan City’s Agriculture Development Branch. The branch stated that no action would be taken on incomplete applications or those received after the deadline.
