Three Arrested with Drugs in Kanchanpur
Kanchanpur: Police have arrested three individuals from separate locations in Kanchanpur with a powdery substance resembling brown heroin.
A joint police team from the District Police Office, Kanchanpur, and the Narcotics Control Bureau (Mahendranagar branch) discovered 11 grams and 40 milligrams of the suspected narcotic powder during a check on Wednesday afternoon at Bankhet, Bhimdatta Municipality-5. Police stated that they arrested 30-year-old Harish Prasad Joshi, a resident of Bhimdatta Municipality-6, with the substance.
Similarly, 22-year-old Sudip Chaudhary was arrested at Rajipur, Bhimdatta Municipality-3, with 1.37 grams of a similar substance. Police reported that a team from the temporary police post at Gailanadi arrested Chaudhary—originally from Joshipur Rural Municipality-1, Kailali, but currently renting a room in Rajipur, Bhimdatta Municipality-3—during a check on Wednesday afternoon.
Additionally, police arrested two individuals with 150 milligrams of suspected narcotic powder at Sisaiya, Bedkot Municipality-6. A team from Suda Police Station arrested the two—including 23-year-old Min Bahadur Thagunna of Harpal, Bedkot Municipality-10—after conducting a check based on suspicion on Wednesday evening.
Police stated that further investigations are underway regarding the incidents and to verify whether the seized substances are indeed narcotics.
