Sister, Brother-in-Law Arrested for Allegedly Beating Brother in Kanchanpur

Dhangadhi: Police have arrested a sister and brother-in-law in Kanchanpur on charges of beating her brother.

According to the District Police Office, Kanchanpur, Parbati Nath and her husband Waldev Nath have been arrested for allegedly beating 49-year-old Gopal Giri of Gauji, Bedkot Municipality-7.

Police said Giri was beaten with a stick on Tuesday night. He was immediately taken to Mahakali Provincial Hospital, Mahendranagar, for treatment. After receiving general treatment there, he was brought to Dhangadhi for further treatment and is currently receiving treatment at Maya Metro Hospital, police said.

Giri is said to have sustained an injury to his back. According to police, the initial investigation indicates that the incident stemmed from a domestic dispute over land.
