Man abandons test-drive motorcycle in garage, flees with shop owner’s mobile phone

Dhangadhi: A motorcycle taken under the pretext of a test drive in Attariya, Kailali, has been recovered in Mahendranagar, while the suspect remains at large after allegedly fleeing with a mobile phone.

The motorcycle, bearing registration number Sup Pra 01-012 Pa 7672, was taken from Babu Auto Sales in Attariya on the pretext of a test drive. It was later found at a garage in Mahendranagar.

According to police, the individual had taken the motorcycle to Avay Auto Shop located at Triveni Chowk in Bhimdatta Municipality. He reportedly left the motorcycle at the garage, claiming it needed servicing.

However, the incident took another turn when the man requested the shop owner’s mobile phone, saying he needed to make a call. After obtaining the phone, he fled the scene, leaving the motorcycle behind.

The garage owner reported the theft of the mobile phone to the police. During the investigation, authorities discovered that the motorcycle left at the garage had been taken earlier from Attariya under the pretext of a test drive.

While the motorcycle has been recovered, the individual who fled with the mobile phone remains absconding. Police said a search operation is ongoing.
