Kanchanpur: A man who was stranded on an island in the middle of the Mahakali River in Kanchanpur has been rescued safely with the help of security personnel and locals.

According to the District Police Office, Kanchanpur, the news of Ram Bahadur Singh, aged 45, of Malika Tole, Ward No. 04, Dodhara Chandani Municipality, being stranded on an island in the Mahakali River was received at 9:15 am on Monday.

As soon as the news was received, a 10-member team under the command of a Deputy Inspector of Police (P.N.) was deployed from the Area Police Office, Dodhara Chandani with rescue equipment. In addition, a 10-member rescue team under the command of a Deputy Inspector of Police (S.P.N.) was also sent to the scene from the Armed Police Force, Devisyan, Kanchanpur.

Tek Bahadur Rawat, Information Officer and Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Kanchanpur, informed that a joint team of Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and local residents, who reached the spot at 9:30 am, carried out rapid rescue operations and succeeded in rescuing Singh safely.
