6.85 percent votes invalidated in Kanchanpur parliamentary election
Kanchanpur: The District Election Office, Kanchanpur, has reported that 6.85 percent of votes were invalidated in the House of Representatives elections held on Falgun 21 in the district.
In Constituency No. 1, out of 60,785 votes cast, 3,734 votes were invalidated. The constituency has a total of 101,724 registered voters. In Constituency No. 2, 4,230 votes were invalidated out of 65,347 votes cast, while the total number of voters in the constituency stands at 109,574.
Similarly, in Constituency No. 3, 4,663 votes were invalidated out of 58,209 votes cast. Chief of the Election Office, Harish Chandra Joshi, stated that most of the invalid votes were due to double stamps, and some ballot papers were also found with thumb impressions.
According to the Election Commission, six percent of votes were invalidated in the previous election. In Kanchanpur, which has 317,623 voters, a total of 58.67 percent voter turnout was recorded across all three constituencies.
